The Lands Beyond

Welcome to your Adventure Log!
A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.

Player Notes
Disjointed story lines result in different exp totals.

Carson: 900exps
Jon: 900exps
Will: 450exps
Dan: 450exps

GM notes

  • Since Carson is just learning magic, make sure you know how your spells work. In particular what bonuses are being added, and do they stack.
  • Initiative tracker seems to be doing well. Bad guys now can have different initiatives. It takes a little longer than i want to put in initiatives, next session, and during selective side sessions I’ll introduce macros that will automatically put initiative into my tracker, making set up a bit quicker(you’ll roll will result in it being put into the tracker, instead of me copying and pasting each result).

Next Session Saturday night(unless otherwise stated).
Side session for this week include:
1. A mission from Brendthal.
2. What happened to our Druid/Shifter.. and other characters not introduced.
3. Guard duty
4. William figure out what’s going on.
5. Arena Battles
6. Job boards(chk out local guilds for jobs).

I’d like to get William, Dan, and those who did not play in, to flush out their characters a bit more(get them move involved with the plot), and to catch up exp wise. Although it will be for the most part first come first serve, and there is obviously stuff for everyone. Side quest can include 1 or more players.

Side sessions.. I can do for about 1 hr. after I put my son down(around 9). I do need to know a bit in advance, theses sessions wont take me long to put into maptool(some are already), but I do need to plan my day so I get real life taken care of.

As far as exps my general rule is to balance out exps missed from lossed sessions, or bon

Next Session Saturday night in two weeks(24th, unless something comes up).
Side session for the next 2 weeks include:
1. A mission from Brendthal.
2. What happened to our Druid/Shifter.. and other characters not introduced.
3. Guard duty
4. William figure out what’s going on.
5. Arena Battles

I do need to know a bit in advance, these sessions wont take me long to put into maptool(some are already) and plan out, but I do need to plan my day so I get real life taken care of. Those that missed Saturday I may be able to do a longer side session this saturday to even things out.

As far as exps my general rule is to balance out exps missed from lost sessions, bonus skills, feats, items, gold, etc can also be rewarded. For those that missed sessions I’ll consider letting you do more make up sessions, or a longer session with me, depending on real life.

Session 2a: Lets piss of more people
session

  • Took on a task for Brendeth, capturing Samon Talii’s son.
  • After the noble’s wagon ‘broke down’, let him get on a horse and start riding off.
  • Dan, attacked a horse to knock off the kid.
  • Killed, and looted two mercanaries.
Individual Character Notes
  • Dan always interested in the old Gods, and nature may be feeling some remorse in attacking a horse(lethal damage), with a great sword… Will his newly emurging powers cease to exist(they did at least once, healing his wounds).
  • Carson manages to get the kid to the drop off point without killing him. Uses color spray to some good effect….in front of someone who works for Brenthel… do’h).
  • Game Notes
    450exps
    512 gold
    half-plate(magical, with a brand)
    splintmail
    masterword club
    nice longsword
    wooden shield
    2 vials

Good job playing and trying things, even if they didn’t work(Zombies nooooo). Also good job adjusting to my set of rules, it’s tough playing with a different set of people, than learning how a new DM acts. Be aware that certain skills can help you find things to do.. Gather Info…

    1 vials

Great job in combat. Good job playing with each others strenghts, and adjusting strategies without talking OOC. Be ready to act when it’s your turn. I don’t mind having tech. issues, but you should know if your going into melee, running away, firing an arrow.. etc when it’s your turn.

Player Notes
Exp points 1810 for all players active during the session
Most treasure divided during the session however,
4 vials and 6 flasks put into party loot.
+1 Skill point to selected PCs
Great job creating party tension with the deathes of NPCs. I was worried that things would carry over to OOC, but everyone played it well. Created an extra dimension with PCs melting down over tragic evens. Also good job with with tactics, and trying to aviod metagaming. A sentence or two is fine in battle(free action).

Next session i’ll try to incorporate cover and concellment a bit more. In general if an object is blocking you that is cover, which adds to AC, while concellment is not being able to see someone, so if you are blind, an enemey is invisiable or hinding in shadows, or there is a heavy fog…..

Next game TBA, no side sessions this week.
